Brixton Brady was knocked off her bike by a lorry and died at the scene according to this article.

Friends put up a photostream of many photos here.

From Transfabulous:

Our friend and Transfabulous collaborator died on the 18th September 2006.
Brixton was such a vital part of Transfabulous. From selecting all the films for the film programme in the 2006 festival to working the door at parties to lugging equipment around, without Brixton I'm not sure we could have done any of it. Or at least, we wouldn't have done it nearly as well. Or laughed so hard our bellies ached and tears rolled down our cheeks.

I wrote the following text for "Diva" magazine, just after Brixton died..
Brixton was a gentleman. Brixton was a geisha. Brixton was a shining bird of paradise in sequins, feathers and ruffs. Brixton was a pirate boy in leather and gold.
Our beloved Brixton Brady never settled for the ordinary. She asked the universe for things - some she got, like a most beautiful love, others she didn’t. But she never compromised with life.

She worked incredibly hard, collaborating on projects she believed in. She worked on exhibitions, installations, films, books and photographic projects with Del LaGrace Volcano. She brought her unique vision and creativity to many films, including those by Inge Blackman, Jules Nurrish and Jason Barker. Brixton was passionate about movies. She programmed the films for the first Transfabulous festival earlier this year. She always attended the LLGFF, usually with a film she’d been involved in. Brixton had just made her first short film as director, which had been accepted into a festival.
Brixton was a queer anarchist with a strong sense of justice. Brixton was a rolling stone. She rode a vintage motorcycle from Germany to London wearing white silk pyjamas and a pair of goggles. Brixton was a frequent flyer. She wore a dress made of balloons.
To be with Brixton Brady was to enter another, much more magical world than our own. Clothes were put together so they could become friends. Action Men grew wings, food was mostly sweet and tea was always served in exquisite cups and saucers. Things were beautiful.

Brixton’s life touched so many others. She taught us that beauty can be found everywhere if we know how to look (or how to add sequins and glitter with a glue gun!) Brixton never let life knock the trust and hope out of her. She believed in the dramatic last minute rescue and, you know what? The day was, more often than not, saved. The life of Brixton Brady was an adventure. Way, way too short but still an epic.

Brixton Brady was our hero.
