Lucinda Ferrier

Lucinda Ferrier was struck and run over by an HGV in Stoke Newington. She died as a result of her injuries four hours later in hospital. She was conscious for most of that time. The lorry driver stopped at the scene. There have been no arrests.

A notice on her ghost bike describes her as

Beloved daughter of Nicholas and Mimi, sister of Olivia, Paul, Charles and Andrew, companion of Stuart, and second mother to Molly and Daisy.

We received an email in October 2008 from Luci's partner, Stuart who still misses her very much.

Her friend Robin left a message about the ghost bike on a London discussion board where people were talking about the death:

"Hi Everyone,

I'm a friend of Luci's and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here for your kind words and for the ghost bike.

As I'm sure you can imagine it came as a huge shock to all Luci's family and friends when we heard the news, and frankly everyone is still in a state of shock.

Thanks again."

Cycling advocates noted that Lucinda was the fifth cyclist to be killed by a truck in two years and called for a task force to examine crashes and further regulation of HGV traffic.
