was riding his bike going straight on Metropolitan. A delivery truck was
making a right and turned into Chris. He was pulled under the front
tires and he died instantly. The truck driver was stopped by
another driver who claimed he didn't realize he had hit someone - he
was never charged.
Chris was a former member of the
bands Bike Gang Knife
Fight in Tupelo, MS and Unorganism in
Brooklyn, NY. He also performed in various other bands in New York and
was one of two hundred guitarists to perform in Rhys Chatham's Crimson Grail
at Lincoln Center.
Chris worked at the
Foundation Center from 2006 - 2009. His co-workers remember him here. In
January 2011, Chris began working as a web producer at The New School.
His co-workers left a scrabble board up mid-game in his honor.
Chris Doyle's friends made their own ghost bike and installed it on the block of his accident.
They dedicated the bike before a memorial ride in his memory with a
sign that reads "Incredible Dude". They were surprised to find that
someone had already installed a ghost bike on the corner. He is
currently remembered by two

in Mississippi and New York, he was remembered with the following quote
from a Silver Jews song:
"I wish I had a rhinestone suit
I wish I had a new pair of boots
But mostly I wish
I wish I was with you"
