Funeral arrangements have been set for Dayshan T. Geralds, 17, a Curtis High School student who died Saturday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton, after being struck in a hit-and-run crash not far from his Jersey Street home on Friday.
Friends and family remembered Dayshan as an outgoing teen with a keen sense of humor. He was born in New Brighton, and resided in that community all his life.
Dayshan was slated to be a senior at Curtis High School next month.
“He was the type of person to always keep everyone laughing,” said his aunt, Willie Tilghman. “He enjoyed riding his bike and loved to be around family and make jokes. He will be missed by loved ones and friends, especially his cousin and best friend, Kareem Tilghman.”
Dayshan enjoyed playing basketball and video games, as well as reading and writing, his family recalled. And though he was skinny, he was fond of eating chicken and hamburgers, his aunt said.
