Location:
Linden Blvd near 175th Street
Queens

Frank Simpson was killed as he rode along Linden Boulevard in St. Albans, Queens, a dangerous area referred to as Dead Man's Curve because of the high number of crashes along this stretch of traffic. Simpson was a daily bike commuter and had been returning home from his job as a janitor at a Con Edison facility when he was hit. Witnesses say that the car had been speeding and it was reported that an investigation was ongoing to determine who, of the two passengers, had been driving. No charges had been filed at that time. “He didn’t bother nobody” his former neighbor Reverand Raymond Reed told The Daily News, “He was a neighborly fellow who’d rake leaves and cut the grass for neighbors”
