We received the following email:
Kerwon JP Alfred, my friend, was hit on the intersection of Utica Avenue
and Empire Boulevard by a vehicle and died a few days after. The incident
took place on September 14th, 2017 and he passed away on September 19th,
2017.
We were able to connect with his family and help them install a ghost bike near where he was hit exactly two months after his death. Family members decorated it and placed a sign on it which reads:
In Loving Memory
of John Paul Alfred
Forever A Legend
1982 - 2017
His obituary states he was returned to his homeland of St. Lucia for interment at the Soufriere Cemetery.

Earlier on Thursday, a 35-year-old man was critically injured when he
was hit by a livery cab at the intersection of Utica Avenue at Empire
Boulevard in Crown Heights, police said.
The man remained in critical condition at Kings County Hospital Center as of Friday morning, according to police.
