Pedro was on his way home from work on the night before Thanksgiving when the driver of a truck crashed into him when turning without yielding just before 5 p.m., cops said. The driver fled and
is being sought by authorities.

of St. James Ave. was crossing Borden Ave. in Maspeth when the driver a white
commercial truck traveling on Maurice Ave. made a right turn and struck
him, police said.
"He was a very happy person. My father was humble and kind," said the victim's son Pedro Alonzo Lopez, 23.

When we installed a ghost bike in March 2014 for Pedro at the location where he was hit, we found his bike saddle left on the side of the road.
