The cyclist was crossing the Grand Concourse from 158th St. on his bike
when the driver of a U-Haul van heading south struck him, the police
say.
The Daily News reports that he was taken to nearby Lincoln Hospital Center where doctors could not save him. His name has not been released.
StreetsBlog reports that the NYPD immediately blamed the cyclist for his own death, although they did not present any evidence to show that he did not have the right of way.
