Devin was often seen riding her bicycle in Fort Worth,
and had made a commitment to wearing heels and skirts as she
pedaled in order to be easily discerned as a woman on a bike.
Mere weeks before Devin was taken from us (in a fatal bicycle
accident in September 2006), she had told me, "I can't wait to get back
[from California] so we can do more performance work together!"
year hence, many of us (artists, activistas, womanists, bicyclists) are
still missing her madly. But her example and inspiring light lives on
in each of us.
We are committed to working/playing/singing even harder now, in
honor of Devin.

Devin's obituary states that in addition to her many friends, she was "survived by her mother and stepfather, Diana and Kenneth Mahon of Burleson, TX;
grandparents, Audrey and Lawson Simpson of Granbury, TX; father, Fred
Adams of Pacolet, SC."
