A witness says that the driver who allegedly hit and killed a
21-year-old NAU student on her bicycle Sunday night was going at least
60 mph through a residential south Flagstaff neighborhood.
One of Murphy-Mahoney’s classmates described her as a genuine and sweet
person. “She was a very talented writer and was always eager to share
input for others’ work as well,” said Adelaide Lenox. “She had beautiful
long, black hair and a sweet smile. She will be missed.”

A temporary ghost bike was installed on campus on the anniversary of the death of NAU student Jordan Mahoney. Bike was set up near campus on south beaver st, not at the location of the crash, due to requests of neighbors. That ghost bike was soon removed by NAU security.
Newpapers report the crash at Walapai and Mohawk Drives; however crash
report has Walapai Dr at Zuni Dr, on 2012-09-09.
