A male cyclist, whose name was not released, was cycling northbound on the western crosswalk of the intersection with Avenue P and East 12th Street when he was struck by a the driver of vehicle that had been hit by the driver of another vehicle according to StreetsBlog.

According to PIX11 ,
one driver, driving on Avenue P, had run a steady red signal and struck
the other vehicle as it passed through the intersection via East 12th
Street with the green light.  The second car then struck the cyclist.
The cyclist was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver who ran the red light was charged with impaired driving.
